Creating Saints Through Sports: How Youth Sports Instill Faithfulness
Did you know that there’s more to youth sports than just fun and athletic development? Youth Sports bring together children, families, and communities in a unique way. That’s why we took hold of the opportunity to create saints through sports with Victory Sports! We aim to energize the Catholic laity toward a greater involvement in and love of our Church and our Faith. Our goal is to reinvigorate the domestic church to produce witnesses, vocations, and, ultimately, saints through youth sports.
We develop children as athletes through instruction and competition while forming them as disciples through the Catholic moral tradition and the devotional life. As Pope John Paul II wrote, “Every Christian is called to become a strong athlete of Christ, that is, a faithful and courageous witness to his Gospel. But to succeed in this, he must persevere in prayer, be trained in virtue and follow the divine Master in everything.” Our coaches encourage spiritual openness and spiritual seeking in players, as well as prepare them for intentional discipleship. It truly is more than just games and uniforms!
Regardless of the sport being played, we aim to develop unity, holiness, excellence, worship, and virtue in each of our athletes. Not only is virtue instilled through sport, but sport is also elevated by virtue. The intersection of faith and sports is a special place! Come join us.
